There are a number of ways to stop or at least delay the foreclosure process in Grand Rapids, MI. Much of this depend on your particular circumstances. Let’s discuss a few possible options that could stop foreclosure on hour Grand Rapids area home.
Sell Your House Before it is Foreclosed
This option is of course easiest if you have a good amount of equity in your house. It is also possible to sell your house if you owe more than it is worth, this process is called a short sale. Of course I don’t recommend trying to sell your house fast until you have looked at other options for stopping foreclosure.
Get the Lender to Modify Your Loan to Stop Foreclosure
A second choice you have is to contact your lender to see if they will give you a loan modification. It is not uncommon for them to temporarily lower your payment, and even just add your current missed payments on back on to the loan. You will have to contact your lender, and they will usually send you a packet of information to fill out. After you have this back to them, they will then decide if you qualify for a loan modification or any other sort of program.
Project Lifeline
This is a new Government program designed to help homeowners that are behind on their mortgage payments. If your house is going in to foreclosure, and you want to try to save it, you will want to read the details here.
